NHS Pharmacy First Plus: Fast Access to Healthcare in Scotland

Accessing healthcare shouldn’t be complicated — and in Scotland, it doesn’t have to be. The NHS Pharmacy First Plus service gives patients quick access to clinical assessment, advice, and treatment from a specially trained pharmacist, without needing to see a GP first.

At our pharmacy, we have independent prescriber pharmacists who can diagnose, manage, and prescribe for a wide range of common conditions, helping you get the care you need quickly and conveniently.

What Is Pharmacy First Plus?

Pharmacy First Plus is an enhanced NHS service designed to make it easier for people in Scotland to receive prompt treatment for everyday health concerns.

It allows trained independent prescriber pharmacists to:

  • Assess symptoms

  • Provide expert clinical advice

  • Prescribe appropriate treatment (including prescription-only medicines)

  • Refer you to other services if needed

This service is free for anyone registered with a Scottish GP.

Anyone who lives in Scotland or is registered with a GP practice in Scotland can use Pharmacy First Plus.

You don’t need an appointment, and you don’t need to contact your GP first, simply speak to our pharmacist and we’ll help you access the right treatment.
